Editorial Policy

At AICodeReview.cc, we are committed to providing accurate, fair, and useful reviews of AI code review tools. This editorial policy outlines how we produce content and maintain quality.

Review Methodology

Our reviews follow a standardized process to ensure consistency and fairness:

  • Setup & Configuration: We install and configure each tool following its official documentation.
  • Real-World Testing: Each tool is tested on actual codebases with real pull requests across multiple programming languages.
  • Feature Assessment: We evaluate core features, integration quality, ease of use, and documentation.
  • Performance & Accuracy: We measure the accuracy of AI-generated suggestions and the rate of false positives.
  • Pricing Analysis: We analyze pricing tiers relative to features and competitor offerings.

Rating System

Tools are rated on a 1–5 scale based on weighted criteria: accuracy and usefulness of reviews (30%), ease of setup and integration (20%), language and platform support (15%), pricing and value (15%), documentation and support (10%), and unique features (10%).

Content Updates

All reviews are updated at least quarterly. When a tool ships a major update, we re-evaluate our review within 30 days. Each review displays a "Last Verified" date so readers know how current the information is.

Corrections

If you find an error in any of our reviews, please email corrections@aicodereview.cc. We investigate all reports and update our content promptly when errors are confirmed.

Sponsorship & Category Partners

This site is funded in part by a small number of paid category partnerships. A category partner is a vendor that pays an annual fee for labelled placement - a partner panel on its own tool page, a slot on the homepage, and a unit in the blog sidebar. We take at most one partner per category, and we do not run display ads.

Every paid placement is labelled "Sponsored" or "Partner" where it appears, and every outbound link inside one carries rel="sponsored". If it is not labelled, nobody paid for it.

What a partnership does not buy:

  • Ratings. Scores are set by the same weighted criteria applied to every tool, before and after a deal.
  • Rankings. The homepage grid, category lists, and comparison tables sort on merit. A partner does not move up.
  • Criticism. Cons, trade-offs, and negative verdicts stay in the review. We do not remove them, and partners do not approve our copy.
  • Coverage of competitors. We keep reviewing, recommending, and ranking a partner's rivals above them where that is the honest answer.

What a partner does control is the copy inside its own labelled panel - the headline, pitch, and call to action. That is marked as supplied by the vendor wherever it runs.

In roundups and "best of" posts, a partner gets a guaranteed entry and a labelled row in the comparison table. Its rank in that list is still editorial. Where you see a "Partner" tag next to a tool in a list, read the surrounding text as our honest assessment and the tag as the disclosure.
