Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
The short version: if you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address and a few fields about where you signed up. Nothing else about you is collected that identifies you, we do not sell anything to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by sending one email.
What we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter
- Your email address. Needed to send you the newsletter.
- Consent record. The date, time, and IP address of your signup, plus the page and form you signed up from. This exists so we can prove you asked to be on the list, which is a legal requirement rather than a tracking exercise.
- Referrer and UTM parameters if present, so we know which content brings people in.
- Country, derived from your connection by our host. Not a precise location.
- Browser user agent string. Used for spam filtering.
Subscribing uses double opt-in. Your address does nothing until you click the confirmation link we email you. If you never click it, you never receive anything.
If you just read the site
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics, Umami, and Ahrefs Analytics to see which pages get read. This is aggregate traffic data, not a profile of you.
- No account, no login, no personalisation. There is nothing to sign into.
Where it is stored
Subscriber data lives in a Cloudflare D1 database that we operate ourselves. It is not shared with a newsletter platform, a CRM, or an email marketing service. We have not handed your address to a third-party list provider, because there isn't one.
When we start sending the newsletter, delivery will require an email service provider, and that provider will necessarily process your address in order to deliver mail. This page will name them before a single email goes out.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address. Ever, to anyone, for any amount.
- We do not send your address to advertisers or sponsors. Sponsors get aggregate numbers - clicks, impressions, citation counts - never subscriber data.
- We do not run retargeting pixels or advertising trackers.
- We do not put your email address in a URL, where it would end up in server access logs.
Unsubscribing and deletion
Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works without logging in or confirming anything. Unsubscribing stops all email immediately.
Unsubscribing marks your record inactive but keeps the row, so that we do not accidentally mail you again later. If you want the record deleted outright, email hello@aicodereview.cc and we will remove it and confirm when it is gone. You do not need to give a reason.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU, or another jurisdiction with equivalent law, you have the right to access the data we hold on you, correct it, have it deleted, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@aicodereview.cc for any of these. We will respond within 30 days, and in practice much sooner, because the dataset is small enough to query by hand.
Cookies
Analytics providers set cookies. The site itself sets one local preference for your light or dark mode choice, which never leaves your browser. There is no advertising cookie.
Affiliate links and sponsorship
Some outbound links are affiliate links, and some placements are paid sponsorships. Neither involves sharing anything about you with the vendor beyond the ordinary referral information any click carries. How that works editorially is covered in our sponsorship disclosure.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the date at the top changes and material changes will be noted in the newsletter itself.
